Description
1925-D $2 1/2 Gold Quarter Eagle, NGC MS-65. This $2 1/2 gold quarter eagle was struck at the Denver Mint during 1925, a period of robust American gold coinage production in the post-World War I era. The Denver Mint mark (D) appears on the reverse of this classic pre-1933 gold issue, which features John Reichardt's iconic design of Liberty on the obverse and an eagle on the reverse. The coin has been certified by NGC with a grade of MS-65, indicating an attractive Gem Mint State example with only light surface marks consistent with the grade. At this quality level, the coin displays excellent eye appeal with well-preserved luster and sharp detail throughout. The 1925-D is a readily available date in the quarter eagle series, making this an excellent example for both type collectors and those building a complete date and mint set of quarter eagles.
