Description

1926 $2 1/2 Gold Coin. This Quarter Eagle represents a popular date in the classic American gold series. The $2.50 denomination, minted in 90% gold, was produced intermittently throughout the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The 1926 issue falls within the later production years of this iconic denomination, which would cease regular coinage in 1929 before being revived briefly in the 1940s. Graded NGC MS-65, this example displays the quality and eye appeal expected of a Choice Mint State specimen. At this grade level, the coin exhibits full original luster with only light, scattered contact marks consistent with careful handling and storage. The strike is well-executed with good detail throughout the design elements, making this an attractive example for both type collectors and date specialists. NGC Certificate #3318047005
