Description
1949 10C Roosevelt Dime, FB, PCGS MS67. This exceptional 1949 Philadelphia Roosevelt Dime represents a superior example of early post-war coinage, certified by PCGS as MS67 with the desirable FB (Full Bands) designation. Designed by John R. Sinnock, this specimen showcases the sharp striking and lustrous surfaces characteristic of high-grade early Roosevelt issues. The FB designation indicates fully defined horizontal lines on the torch fasces reverse, a condition that significantly enhances collector appeal and rarity for this series. Composed of 90% silver and 10% copper, this dime retains the precious metal content of pre-1965 U.S. coinage. Struck at the Philadelphia Mint from a mintage of 30,940,000 pieces, this date and mint combination was produced in substantial quantities, making high-grade examples with full bands particularly noteworthy. The MS67 grade places this coin in the upper echelon of the population data, with only 10 examples graded higher among 29 total submissions to PCGS. The combination of attractive original luster, sharp definition, and the elusive FB designation makes this 1949-P dime a desirable acquisition for Roosevelt Dime specialists and silver coinage collectors alike. PCGS Certificate #31503818.
