1946-S 50C

Description

1946-S Walking Liberty Half Dollar, NGC MS-67. This 1946-S Half Dollar represents a desirable example from the final year of the iconic Walking Liberty design. Struck at the San Francisco Mint, this coin displays the characteristic high relief and artistic merit that made this series a favorite among collectors and designers alike. The coin has been certified by NGC with a grade of MS-67, indicating an exceptional level of preservation with only minor imperfections visible under magnification. At this grade level, the coin retains sharp striking detail, particularly in Liberty's flowing gown and the eagle's wing feathers, along with attractive luster befitting an uncirculated example from this era. The 1946-S is a significant issue for collectors pursuing a complete Walking Liberty series, as production ceased after this year in favor of the Franklin Half Dollar design. The combination of the final-year designation and strong technical grade makes this an appealing acquisition for both type collectors and those focused on completing the Walking Liberty series.
