1949-S 50C, MS

Description

1949-S Kennedy Half Dollar, MS67. This 1949-S half dollar represents a notable example from the San Francisco Mint's post-war coinage period. The piece exhibits the sharp striking and lustrous surfaces characteristic of well-preserved specimens from this era. Housed in an NGC holder with a grade of MS67, this coin displays strong eye appeal with excellent preservation of design details and original mint luster. The 1949-S is a moderately scarce date in the Kennedy half dollar series, with San Francisco Mint production representing a smaller output compared to Philadelphia and Denver facilities during this period. An MS67 grade indicates exceptional quality, with only light imperfections visible under magnification. This level of preservation is increasingly difficult to locate for early 1950s half dollars, making it an attractive acquisition for both type collectors and those pursuing complete date and mintmark sets.
