1880-S S$1

Description

1880-S Morgan Dollar, NGC MS-67. This exceptional 1880-S Morgan Dollar represents a significant example from the San Francisco Mint's prolific silver dollar coinage during the height of the Morgan series. The coin exhibits the characteristic design elements of this iconic American silver dollar, featuring Lady Liberty on the obverse and an eagle with outstretched wings on the reverse. Graded MS-67 by NGC (Certificate #8663144001), this specimen displays outstanding eye appeal with exceptional luster and minimal surface marks consistent with the grade. The 1880-S is a readily obtainable date in the Morgan Dollar series, though examples in this caliber of preservation are notably more desirable to collectors seeking high-grade representatives of San Francisco Mint production. Morgan Dollars remain among the most collected and cherished coins in American numismatics, prized for their historical significance, artistic merit, and investment potential. This well-preserved example would serve as an excellent addition to any Morgan Dollar collection or type set of United States silver dollars.
