Description

1905 $2 1/2 Gold Coin. This Quarter Eagle represents one of the most collectible denominations in the American gold coinage series. The $2.50 gold piece, or Quarter Eagle, was minted intermittently throughout the 19th and early 20th centuries, with the 1905 issue falling within the later years of Liberty Head coinage before the transition to Indian Head design in 1908. The present example has been certified by NGC with an impressive grade of 65, placing it solidly in the gem category. At this grade level, the coin displays excellent eye appeal with well-preserved details and lustrous surfaces befitting its age. The NGC certification number 5230941003 provides full authentication and grading documentation. Quarter Eagles from this era remain popular with both type collectors and date collectors alike, serving as an accessible entry point into pre-1933 United States gold coinage. The 1905 date is a readily obtainable issue within the series, making this an excellent opportunity to acquire a quality example in gem condition.
