1940 10C, FB

Description

1940 10C, FB. This exceptional 1940 Mercury Dime has been certified by NGC as MS-68, representing a superior example of this classic issue. The designation FB (*Full Bands*) indicates that both horizontal bands on the reverse fasces are fully struck, a condition that significantly enhances collector appeal and value. Coins achieving this striking quality standard are increasingly difficult to locate, particularly in such high grades. The Mercury Dime series (1916-1945) remains one of the most beloved designs in American numismatics, and 1940 represents a solid production year for the denomination. An MS-68 example demonstrates exceptional preservation with virtually no imperfections visible to the unaided eye, retaining original luster and sharp detail throughout. The Full Bands designation confirms the quality of the strike, making this an outstanding specimen for the serious collector. NGC Certificate #6815606011
