Description

1947 Dime, Full Bands (FB), NGC MS-68. This exceptional 1947 dime represents a premium example of Mercury coinage from the post-war era. Graded NGC MS-68 with the coveted Full Bands (FB) designation, this coin exhibits the sharp striking and lustrous surfaces that define the finest examples of this date. The Full Bands designation indicates exceptionally sharp definition on the fasces reverse, with both horizontal bands clearly separated and well-defined—a characteristic that elevates this coin well above typical survivors from the 1947 mintage. The obverse displays the crisp detail expected of this grade, with strong eye appeal and original mint luster preserved across both sides. Mercury dimes from 1947 remain popular among collectors of the series, and examples achieving MS-68 with FB credentials represent the upper echelon of the market.
