1952-S 50C Washington-Carver, MS

Description

1952-S 50C Washington-Carver Commemorative, MS67 NGC. This exceptional example of the 1952-S Washington-Carver half dollar represents one of the final issues in this popular commemorative series. Struck at the San Francisco Mint, this piece exhibits the lustrous surfaces and sharp striking characteristics expected of Mint State examples from this era. The Washington-Carver commemorative series, issued between 1951 and 1954, honored the friendship and collaborative work of two influential American figures in agricultural science and education. The 1952-S issue is among the more challenging dates to locate in high grades, with MS67 representing an exceptional preservation level that places this coin well above typical circulated or lower Mint State examples. Graded MS67 by NGC (Certification #8664088009), this piece displays the attractive luster and minimal surface disturbance characteristic of the grade. The strong strike and original mint finish make this an appealing example for the serious commemorative collector seeking quality representation of this important series.
