1946-S 50C

Description

1946-S Half Dollar, NGC MS-67. This exceptional Walking Liberty half dollar represents a significant example from the final year of this iconic series. Struck at the San Francisco Mint, this 1946-S displays the characteristic design elements that made the Walking Liberty type one of the most beloved of all United States coinage. The obverse features Lady Liberty in full stride, while the reverse showcases an eagle at rest, both rendered with the artistic excellence that defined this series from 1916 to 1947. Graded MS-67 by NGC (Cert. #8663662001), this piece exhibits outstanding eye appeal with lustrous mint surfaces and minimal imperfections consistent with the grade. The 1946-S is a scarcer date in high grades, as most examples from this late-series year have not survived in premium condition. This particular specimen represents the quality and preservation that serious collectors seek when building comprehensive Walking Liberty collections. The Walking Liberty half dollar remains one of the most collected American series, prized for both its artistic merit and historical significance. High-grade examples such as this continue to command strong collector interest and represent an excellent addition to any serious numismatic collection.
