Description
1978 $1 Dollar, NGC MS-67. A notable example of the 1978 Susan B. Anthony dollar, graded by NGC at the MS-67 level. This coin represents the later years of the Susan B. Anthony series, which was minted from 1979-1981 and again in 1999. The MS-67 grade indicates a coin with exceptional eye appeal and only light contact marks, well above typical circulation finds from this era. The Susan B. Anthony dollar, despite its historical significance as the first circulating U.S. coin to feature a real woman, faced considerable challenges in commerce due to its similarity in size to the quarter. Consequently, high-grade examples such as this MS-67 specimen are increasingly difficult to locate, particularly from the original 1978-1981 production run. The strong starting bid reflects the desirability of this grade level and the rarity of well-preserved examples. NGC Certification Number: 8471936010
