Description

# 1921-D Morgan Dollar - PCGS MS66. A remarkable key date Morgan Silver Dollar from the final year of production, this 1921-D represents the sole Morgan Dollar struck at the Denver Mint. Produced during the twilight of the Morgan Dollar series, this coin emerged from the historic Comstock Lode silver discovery and marks a significant moment in American numismatic history. Graded a pristine PCGS MS66, this specimen exhibits exceptional preservation with brilliant frosty surfaces and outstanding eye appeal. The coin displays characteristic shallow relief design typical of 1921 Morgan Dollars, with a relatively light strike that is nonetheless sharp and well-defined. With only 208 coins graded higher out of a total population of 627, this example represents a truly collectible specimen of this historic issue. The 1921-D Morgan Dollar is particularly noteworthy as the only Denver Mint Morgan Dollar ever produced, struck during the final year of the series under the Pittman Act provisions. Minted with a tiny "Micro D" mintmark, this coin was part of a limited production run that began in early May 1921. The total mintage of 20,345,000 pieces makes this an important transitional coin in the Morgan Dollar legacy. Technical Specifications: - Mint: Denver. - Composition: 90% Silver, 10% Copper. - Weight: 26.73g. - Diameter: 38.1mm. - Grading Service: PCGS. - Grade: MS66. - Population: 627 total graded.
