Description

1964-D Roosevelt Dime, NGC MS-68. This exceptional example of the 1964-D Roosevelt dime represents the upper echelon of Mint State preservation for this commonly produced Denver issue. Graded MS-68 by NGC (Certificate #6682994001), this specimen exhibits the sharp strike and lustrous surfaces characteristic of gems from the final year of 90% silver composition in circulating dimes. The 1964-D dime is notable as one of the final issues struck before the transition to copper-nickel clad composition in 1965. While mintage figures were substantial, finding examples in this exceptional grade of preservation is considerably more challenging. The MS-68 designation indicates near-perfect eye appeal with only the most minute imperfections visible under close examination, making this a desirable offering for both type collectors and date-run specialists seeking premium examples of early 1960s Roosevelt dimes. This certified gem represents an excellent addition to high-grade Roosevelt dime collections and offers strong eye appeal for the discerning collector.
